Fortuna Düsseldorf on the Verge of Bundesliga Promotion
3-0 Advantage in Bochum
WEB Fortuna Düsseldorf are on the verge of promotion back to the Bundesliga, holding a 3-0 advantage over VfL Bochum. An own goal, a counter-attack, and a rebound gave Fortuna Düsseldorf a big advantage in the first leg of the promotion playoff.
First-Leg Advantage
Fortuna Düsseldorf took the lead in the 20th minute when Bochum defender Vasilios Lampropoulos scored an own goal. Düsseldorf doubled their lead in the 55th minute when Kristoffer Peterson scored on a counter-attack. Rouwen Hennings added a third goal for Düsseldorf in the 75th minute with a rebound.
The second leg of the promotion playoff will be played on Monday, May 29th, at Fortuna Düsseldorf's home stadium. Düsseldorf will be looking to hold on to their advantage and secure promotion back to the Bundesliga.
