Early Life and Career

Candace Parker was born on April 19, 1986, in St. Louis, Missouri. Growing up, she excelled in basketball, leading her high school team to multiple state championships. After graduating, she attended the University of Tennessee, where she became one of the most decorated players in NCAA history, winning two national championships and being named the Naismith Player of the Year in 2007.

Professional Career

Parker was selected first overall in the 2008 WNBA draft by the Los Angeles Sparks. She has since established herself as one of the league's most dominant players, winning two MVP awards (2008, 2013), three Defensive Player of the Year awards (2012, 2016, 2017), and six All-Star selections. In 2016, she led the Sparks to their first WNBA championship in 15 years.
